100 Million Rides & 1,000 Stations!

Citi Bike, New York city's bike share program, recently achieved it 100 millionth trip since it's launch in May 2013! Since the program launched, New Yorkers and visitors from around the world have demonstrated that bike share is a fast, healthy, and affordable mode of transportation. In 2019, DOT and Lyft announced the next expansion of Citi Bike. The expansion will double the size of the service area, covering all of Manhattan and significant portions of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, and increase the system’s fleet to 40,000 bikes.

To celebrate CIti Bike, Lyft made this quick-scrolling gif, with a series of bike share photos (both real and photoshopped!).

In addition, Lyft recently installed their 1,000th bike share station! This station was installed at East 160th Street and Tinton Avenue. To celebrate this momentous occasion, a mural was painted around the corner at the World of Light International building. The mural was created by Andre Trenier. Please see the mural below:
